The Bucktown Belt is the ultimate tribute to our Chicago roots. Named after the neighborhood we call home, this belt represents a completely local cycle of craftsmanship: the leather is tanned at the legendary Horween Tannery in Bucktown, and the belt is cut and stitched in our workshop just down the street.
The Leather: Horween Illini Latigo We construct this belt from a single, robust layer of Horween Illini Latigo. This is a full-grain, vegetable-retanned leather that offers the best of both worlds: the strength and structure of a traditional strap leather, combined with the rich feel of a hot-stuffed tannage. By infusing the hide with natural oils and waxes during the tanning process, the leather is weather-resistant and pliable from day one. Best of all, it develops a dramatic, personalized patina the more you wear it.
Refined Versatility At 1.25" wide, the Bucktown is the definition of a "daily driver." It strikes the perfect balance for a versatile hybrid style—rugged enough for raw denim, yet refined enough for chinos and a blazer. The tonal stitching blends seamlessly into the leather for a clean, sophisticated look, while the hand-beveled and waxed edges ensure comfort against your waist.
Functional Details We’ve upgraded the standard belt design with 7 unique teardrop-shaped holes. This distinctive shape allows the buckle pin to sit flatter against the strap, reducing bulk and wear on the leather. Secured with a solid brass roller buckle, this belt is built to outlast the pants you wear it with.
